Interns at Meristem
Meristem Therapy Services employs interns from Universities and Colleges. We believe strongly in providing rigorous and inclusive training for future therapists, which includes offering payment for their services.
Our interns are all receiving supervision and all of their sessions are recorded to help with their training and growth as future therapists. The recordings are not done on devices that can access the internet to ensure that there is no cloud access and they cannot be intercepted or accessed outside of Meristem Therapy Services. You have the right to refuse to have sessions recorded and will be given an informed consent to allow for the recordings.
Social work and counseling graduate internships are traditionally unpaid positions. In support of the Payments 4 Placements movement and the recent changes in federal student lending policies, Meristem does provide payment to our interns and the fee that you pay goes to interns. The are considered employees of Meristem.
Out-of-Network Benefits

2. Our practice will enter your sessions into the platform.
3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.
4. You get reimbursed by insurance!
Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies.
