Meristem Therapy Services does employ interns from Universities and Colleges. Social work and counseling graduate internships are traditionally unpaid positions. In support of the Payments 4 Placements movement and the recent changes in federal student lending policies, Meristem does provide payment to our interns and the fee that you pay goes to interns. The are considered employees of Meristem.
Our interns are all receiving supervision and all of their sessions should be recorded to help with their training and growth as future therapists. You have the right to refuse to have sessions recorded and will be given an informed consent to allow for the recordings.
Private Pay
Private pay can be a strong option if you prefer privacy and control over your information and treatment.
This method offers several benefits such as increased confidentiality, greater flexibility to meet your needs, no reporting of a diagnosis, and no session limits.
We are still bound by mandated reporting laws, confidentiality requirements, and our ethical guidelines.
Our Costs
Consultation (15 min)
No cost
For Group Therapy:
$50-$65 for 90 minutes
Initial sessions:
$160-$200 for the session
Follow-up sessions:
$140-$180 for 53 minutes
$110-$160 for 45 minutes
Interns:
$20-$60 for 53 minutes
Sliding scale fee is available for those that do not have the means to afford our full fee.
Documentation may be required to demonstrate need.
Out-of-Network Benefits
We've partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits. Mentaya is perfect if you:

• Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance
• Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement

3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.
4. You get reimbursed by insurance!
Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies.
