Privacy Policy
Effective date: 07/01/2026
This policy explains what happens to information when you visit meristemtherapy.com. It covers this website only.
Meristem Therapy Services, LLC 405 Gaines School Road, Suite A Athens, GA 30605 info@meristemtherapy.com (706) 352-9437
What this website is
This site is informational. It describes our practice, our clinicians, and the services we offer.
You cannot create an account here, and there is nothing on this site to fill out. There is no contact form, no newsletter signup, and no chat window. We do not ask for your name, your email address, your insurance information, or anything about your health.
If you want to schedule with us, the site links out to our scheduling system, and if you want to reach us, it gives you our phone number and email address.
Scheduling happens somewhere else
Appointment requests go through Sessions Health, at meristemtherapy.sessionshealth.com. That is a separate system with its own privacy practices, and anything you enter there is handled under those practices and under our obligations as your health care provider, not under this policy.
Once you become a client, your health information is protected by HIPAA and by Georgia law, and it is covered by our Notice of Privacy Practices rather than by this page.
If you email or call us
If you email info@meristemtherapy.com or call the number above, we have whatever you choose to tell us. Please do not send detailed health information by email. Email is not a secure channel, and we cannot promise it stays private in transit. A brief message asking to get in touch is fine.
What gets collected automatically
Like most websites, this one collects some information about visits without you doing anything.
Squarespace hosts the site and records standard server and analytics information, including IP address, browser and device type, referring site, pages viewed, and time of visit.
Google Analytics measures how people find and move through the site, using cookies and similar technologies.
Google Ads conversion tracking tells us whether someone who clicked one of our ads later took an action on the site. This includes recording when a visitor clicks through to our scheduling page.
Meta pixel does the same kind of measurement for advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
We use this to understand which pages people find useful and whether our advertising is worth what we spend on it. We look at it in aggregate. We are not trying to identify individual visitors, and the reporting these tools give us is not built to let us do that.
Be aware of what that last point does and does not mean. Google and Meta receive this activity directly from your browser, and they may connect it to their own record of you if you have an account with them. That includes the fact that a visit to this site, which is a site about therapy, occurred, and whether that visit included clicking through to request an appointment. We do not send them your name or any information about your health, and we never will. But we would rather tell you plainly what these tools do than let the word "analytics" do the work.
Their handling of that information is governed by their policies:
Google: policies.google.com/privacy
Meta: facebook.com/privacy/policy
Squarespace: squarespace.com/privacy
Turning it off
You have a few options, none of which affect your ability to use this site or to become a client.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Google offers ad personalization controls at myadcenter.google.com and a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Meta offers ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences. Browser extensions that block trackers will also stop most of this.
Our site does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.
Links to other sites
We link to our scheduling system, our social media pages, and sometimes to outside resources. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else's site under their rules. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through this website.
Changes
If we change this policy, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
