Meristem Therapy Services was born from a vision to provide a better way to meet the needs of clients.
We asked the question of what is missing from therapy practices. The answer was choice. We have challenged ourselves to set the standard for authentic, compassionate, and evidence-informed mental health psychotherapy practices in the Athens area and State of Georgia. We then asked what can we do to ensure that our clients needs are prioritized. Our vision defines our belief about our clients and their growth: We will meet all people where they are with their change process and respect how they want to move forward.
The word meristem is intentional. Found within the heart of plants, they are the cells that nurture the potential of growth, giving rise to branches, leaves, flowers, and roots. Once the growth begins, the meristem cell leaves and allows the growth to happen without further need for guidance. When the plant needs to grow again, meristem cells nurture that growth. We want to be there for you for your growth and leave when you are living your life, but are ready to support if you are needing to change more.
Our hope is to be there for you during your growth, to give you support to grow how you want to grow, accepting you as you are, not as the world may tell you to be.
